Not sure if that says much as I haven't used a crimping tool since the 80's. but it's still an amazing pair of pliers. My 7 year old daughter had to curl up her hair for dance photos and an upcoming solo concert. I ordered this. I decided to curl her hair on a Friday night for a Saturday photo shoot in case it didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I started by misting her hair with Got2b Guardian Gloss Finish Flat Iron Balm, 6.8 oz, then parted her hair into about 10 sections. (Her hair is almost to her waist.) I was shocked at how little time I had to hold the pliers in place. I started at the root, put the hair in the curling iron, press for a second, let go, moved the hair down, pressed for a second, moved down etc. I didn't want to burn her hair so I literally did held it for a second or so and it was beautiful. I had her whole head done in about 15 minutes. I slept in a silk hat to keep her hair from rubbing against the pillow. I didn't buy it from Revain) and Garnier Fructis Style Volumizing Anti Moisture Hairspray, 8.25 oz. She looked great. There are 11 other girls in her dance class and most of their mothers have asked me how I did their hair like mine (they all had to have the same hair, some parents made small braids, I think one used pliers, and only one had hair that looked like my daughter's curls.) The studio owner came up to my daughter and took her hair in her hands and said I LOVE THIS HAIR. For a very long time, unless we use curlers on wet hair and let them sleep in them all night, heated hair devices rarely create anything in their hair that lasts. It went like this all night, all Saturday and all Sunday. I liked it very much! I'm so glad I chose this one.
