This is a huge improvement over my old tongs (e.g. mid 2000's). This crimping tool has a temperature setting. It heats up quickly and you can control how deep you want the curl by controlling how long you hold the curl in place. Excellent quality crimping machine for retro boards. funny things. The ancients had such a low temperature that the process of curling long and thick hair was endless. This one is as hot as my iron. I tried it and the frizz held until I washed it off a few days later.
