This mat does not dissipate static electricity and is totally worthless for what it does. I found that even when I touched the mat, I was still releasing static electricity. First I measured the ground it was connected to and came up with close to zero ohms. Then I measured the resistance in the coiled cord that comes with the device and it read 1 MOhm. This is enough to dissipate static electricity. I measured the connections and they were fine. However, when I measured the mat material itself, I found that it is not conductive. It measures infinite resistance. This product will not do what it is designed to do and will endanger your electronic work.
