While the automatic grinder is a great idea for someone like me who only uses one hand, this particular model broke after a few months of use. Regular use at the table or when cooking on the stove. I was hoping that this model would be better than other inefficient grinders I've used, but I was disappointed. Replacing the batteries twice didn't help - plus you have to remove the entire battery pack to get the peppercorns into the tank. This is inconvenient and pretty much guarantees you'll be chasing spilled peppercorns all over the kitchen floor. Eventually I gave in and bought a hand mill that you can use with one hand.
