Effortlessly Perfect: Prodyne Smart Grind Lighted Electric Mill, Stainless Steel Review

Few purchases have given me more pleasure than this pepper mill. I cook a lot so I use it every day and I really like the freshly ground pepper. It has never let me down. It has a clean, sleek design that looks great in my kitchen and is easy to clean too. I like coarsely ground peppers, but it's easy to adjust both finer and coarser grinds. Just get one; You will not regret it.

Broken out of the box! I was so excited because I've wanted an electric pepper grinder for a long time. I opened the box and immediately noticed that the stainless steel was a little dirty, like someone with dirty hands had walked with it. I wiped it off and kept filling it only to find a big hole in the bottom. The plastic piece on the bottom was broken and I found the missing piece rattling in the box. See attached photo.

Works great! I see reviews from people complaining that the pepper flakes are spotty or the same size. If you want to measure the size of each pepper flake, then this isn't for you. Pepper pieces come in different sizes, although you can use fewer or more. If you want really small ground peppers of the same size, buy a jar of ground peppers and a shaker. If you love paprika like me and fancy freshly ground paprika, you will love this coffee grinder.

While the automatic grinder is a great idea for those like me who only use one hand, this particular model broke after a few months of regular use at the table or while cooking on the stovetop. I was hoping that this model would be better than other inefficient grinders I've used, but I was disappointed. I have had 2 of these devices since December 2017 and love them. Recently, a pepper mill broke after an accidental fall on the floor, causing it to stop grinding. I have ordered a new one. Fell apart on first use. The top of the mill has a black inner shell glued to the outer silver trim. The glue didn't hold at all. I asked for a replacement and sent the defective one back.
