I bought this to regulate the pressure in my RV. I went almost a year without her. Colleagues have told me that this is both necessary to avoid damage to the pipes from too much pressure and to increase the pressure as needed to get better shower pressure. When I installed it for the first time I was happy with the set pressure. However, a few months later I checked it out and the pressure gauge read 150 pounds of pressure. It's too high. I turned it off a bit and there was no water. I bumped it up to 140 and got a trickle. Right now it's set at 160 or so and has the same pressure I would probably get without the regulator. Next time I change my water filter I'll toss that one in the trash and put another one, hopefully a bigger one, in it. quality, one.
