Review on 🐠 NICREW Submersible Power Filter with Aeration System and Sponge Filter for Fish Tanks - Versatile Internal Aquarium Filter by Yasmine Sepulveda

Beautiful diving filter

I bought a new rimless aquarium for my dick and his friends. I wanted a filter that would be easier to hide behind plants or tree stumps than dangling on the side. It has good reviews overall, so I gave it a try. I am not an aquarist. In fact the Jarvis is my first fish in YEARS and I put it in a cheap curved front acrylic tank. (By the way, I don't recommend them. They distort everything.) Then I saw a video of a guy doing aquascaping and I was hooked. I bought some plants that Jarvis loves and the next thing I know I'm buying a 15 inch cube aquarium. and lights up some snails and shrimp in daylight/moonlight & what happened?! I wanted all of the aquarium equipment to be as "hidden" as possible to show off the aquarium, the plants, Jarvis and his friends. This filter was perfect! I don't know how loud or quiet the filter is supposed to be, but this one has a nice ripple effect. I keep the drain tube partially submerged in water so there isn't excessive splashing noise. My tank is open at the top, so if the water evaporates and the filter tube is too high above the waterline, I just fill it up. Jarvis also likes to play bubbles. I had orange cherry shrimp (until the new Mollies picked them up 😒) which crawled through the filter but didn't get sucked in and also loved playing bubbles. As far as I can tell the water circulates well. Very satisfied and if this one fails I will definitely replace it with the same brand.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
