Review on Bluetooth headset Plantronics Voyager Legend, black by Micha Dziubiski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Medium quality, especially for that kind of money.

The year is 2022, and this headset has lost its meaning. I used to pay 100 bucks for a necessity, it was a unique offer. But now the Chinese easily plug it into the belt. Some NewBee M50 can do all the same and for only 2022. So the topic is over. Worst of all, terrible quality. There are whole epics about the problems of the Legend with microphones, claims have been repeatedly made on various forums, but things are still there. I had two legends, both from novya. The first one worked for almost 5 years, the second one couldn’t even two years: the microphone died, they began to hear me “like in a pipe”. And not only with me, she didn’t live with someone even for 3 months. The contacts of the magnetic charging are oxidized and you need to constantly look after them, and also check whether the connector is securely fixed - in the morning you can find that the headset carelessly laid to charge was not charging at all . A separate song is the firmware. There are a lot of extra sounds in the headset that cannot be turned off. The headset has its own melody for an incoming call, but very often it continues to play even after pressing the connect button and the first words of the interlocutor are "eaten up". And the inability to call the last number from the magazine immediately after switching on? "There are no available numbers." A penny jabra 10 years ago knew how to do this, but the Legend for 100 Baku dollars did not. This often infuriated in the Legend. A separate topic is the scoring of contacts when calling. I don’t know how it is now, but 5 years ago she could only voice contacts written in Latin. For a while, I was saved by eCID on Android, but with a certain version of the Google bucket, Google banned calling CallerID and this thing stopped working, and without it, the Legend is helpless. So Russification was incomplete, I won’t say about it now. Previously, there were no alternatives. Now - as much as you like, and 100 bucks for a Legend with its current jambs looks like a mockery of common sense. Only due to a loyal audience that does not know how to Google, these headsets are still sold at a crazy price. Once upon a time I would have to put 5 *, but now confident 3 *.

Pros
  • Range, capacious battery (a week or more without recharging, several days with constant conversations), noise reduction (both me and the interlocutor are clearly audible, but see the comments), it is securely held on the head
Cons
  • Floating quality that crosses out all the advantages, high price, unfinished firmware, some nuances of use, separate volume control, magnetic charging
