One of these straps is really good for tugging a bit on a bandana (a square of cotton fabric folded in half) that I have tied around my face for use e.g. as a face mask, covers or masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are also useful if you only use a headscarf for dust protection. After attaching the straps, the elastic section adjusts to the top of the head to keep the bandana comfortable. At full length, the straps are approximately 13-1/2 inches (to the end of the buckles). This full adjustment allows the straps to stretch to approximately 21 inches (to the end of the fasteners) with adequate tension on the elastic straps. When adjusted to almost full length, the straps hold the mask well and provide a slight amount of tension that's just right. I have a fairly large head and there is a little more room to adjust if needed and the straps are a little less adjustable so this should fit most head sizes. The straps seem comfortable, don't rub. The clasps don't snag or pinch your hair so it all works very well.
