I know they probably changed the design like 20 years ago but the wave spring in these new ones is much better than the original design. The engagement is strong enough that my wife probably wouldn't be able to unlock or lock it, but very smooth. Going back and forth a few times made it a little easier. They come with the appropriate amount of lubricant and don't need any more. Outer hubs are easy to lubricate. You only need the minimum amount. Make sure you have snap ring pliers before attempting to remove or install them. There is a snap ring that holds the axle shaft in place. They come with all the necessary equipment. I used this kit to replace my stock Warn hubs on my 1974 Dodge W200 with a Dana 44HD 8 bolt axle.
