Review on Finis Reusable Swim Diaper For Babies And Toddlers by Renee Robinson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Definitely small on my review.

My son is 2 years old, tall, about 33 lbs, wears a size 5 diaper, and wears 3T. His swim classes require disposable swim diapers plus a non-disposable swim diaper on top for kids who are not fully potty trained. Some reviews said these ran small and some said true to size so I ordered a 4T to be on the safe side.I also have a white i play swim diaper that I bought in 24 MONTHS because that was the largest size in store. My son squeezed into it for the first lesson but the leg holes were really tight and we barely got it on.As you can see this swim diaper in 4T is smaller than a 24 month diaper from i play. The waists stretch about the same but I will say this swim diaper's leg holes stretch a lot more than i play! The crotch of this swim diaper is significantly more narrow than the i play so I'm pretty sure it would be useless over a disposable diaper. Now a skinny kid who doesn't have another diaper on may not have an issue with this. I personally prefer the coverage of i play. However the shark camo print is cute and it does seem to be of quality material. The lining isn't as thick as i play's but since these are meant to keep poop in and not contain pee, I doubt that makes any difference.

Pros
  • Doesn't swell up like disposable swim diapers
Cons
  • May not provide the same level of protection for pool water as disposable swim diapers
