Be careful with this lock. I bought this lock on the recommendation of a friend. I like a lot about this lock but when I started using this lock I noticed that there were control characters when entering the combination. After further research, I began to understand how this lock could easily be picked by a would-be thief. To stay updated. This lock should NOT be kept in a place where a thief might have some time to work with it. When entering a code. There are control clicks as well as a change in the feel of the metal cup when the correct letter is entered. For example. If you hold the lock close to your ear and turn the number wheels, you can HEAR and FEEL the correct letter. In no time at all I was able to open this lock without even looking at the keyboard. To test this theory I asked my friend to bring me his lock and after a few minutes I was able to open his lock without knowing his combination. Suffice it to say that none of us use this lock anymore. And also remember that I have ZERO experience with locking mechanisms or picking locking combinations. BE VERY CAREFUL if you decide to use this lock. This is NOT safe at all. Even if the thief can only set two of the four letters, as the average person will enter a legitimate 4 letter word as a password, the other two letters will be EASILY figured out by just trial and error of the password. The remaining combination of 4-letter actual words remained available in English.
