I used these chain breaker/rivet pliers to replace the original #520 chain on my Kawasaki Ninja 500 after ten years and 26500 miles. I first used an angle grinder to remove the original rivet heads before knocking them out with a rivet tool. I then used the tip of a rivet tool to flare the new rivets. However, the tip of the riveting tool was damaged in the process, although I was careful with the force. The instructions say that the pressure plate can be used in place of the riveting tool tip. After a month and 200 miles I checked the linkage with a caliper and it looks fine. There is a lengthy video on YouTube entitled "Delboy's Garage, Motorcycle Chain and Pinion Replacement" that shows everything you need to know to use this tool without damaging it.
