Review on πŸ”§ Superior Tool Company 03943: Compression Sleeve Puller & Remover for 1/2-Inch Fittings by John Douglas

Didn't work for me

Can work in working condition. Let's face it, when we need this tool, it's usually not an ideal situation. That didn't work for me. The compression sleeve did not move. The cuff was draped over a CPVC pipe, like a ring on a finger in summer. The CPVC was crushed by the compression sleeve, leaving a dent in the tube. (picture ring/finger). Unlike meat, the tube is not compressed to cause the sleeve (ring) to slip off. CAUTION when using a puller: Unscrew (remove) after a few turns and check if the bushing slips. In my case as I did this I see that the tool (silver centre) wedged into the hole in the pipe and disengaged from the outer sleeve which was screwed onto the nut. If I just kept turning, it would go further down the tube and widen it; which would make the situation worse. Luckily I was able to get the tool out of the pipe. I ended up keeping the original nut and bushing and installing a new check valve. Luckily the old sleeve created a good enough seal to keep water from dripping.
