The Perfect Combination of Electrolytes to Get Rid of a Dehydration Headache After a Long Swim in an Overheated Pool

I swim long distances in open water, but I mostly train in the pool (especially in winter). I regularly had debilitating headaches from dehydration after two hours or more of swimming in the pool, and I couldn't get rid of them. My hydration during training swimming is usually suboptimal because I don't want to leave my lane too often to go to the bathroom (breaststroke regularly steals my lane) and at the same time the pool is warmer than I prefer (it's warm, so complaining the swimming ladies don't) and I probably lose a lot of water just from sweating. After my practice swim, I tried everything to stay hydrated: water, Nuun, Gatorade (beer, I'm serious, but to no avail) and many other products. Nothing helped. The headache lasted until the end of the day. Yes, you guessed right. Ucan's hydration is the only thing that keeps my headaches away within an hour of bathing. And when I start drinking water when I get out of the pool, I don't have a headache at all. Being a statistician by trade, I ran several experiments, randomly switching between using Ucan or Nuun, and each time repeating the same situation. end of the hour. It works wonders for me and is sustained nutrition and hydration for a very long time. My longest swim exclusively with Ucan Superstarch and Hydrate was a 9 hour swim around Manhattan Island.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
