Definitely a Learning Curve

Living in a state with regularly inclement weather, I wanted an option for grilling without needing to venture out on my deck for an hour. Enter this machine, and overall, I've been rather impressed, though there are a few problems. When it works, it's marvelously effective at cooking a variety of meat. We've mostly done steaks and chicken at this point, but overall it's worked very well for them, leaving them cooked nearly to perfection including a good sear that locks in the moisture of the meat.Unfortunately, we've encountered some errors. We tried making a carne asada recently, and unfortunately the thermometer when set to a medium-rare simply failed to deliver cooked meat. It didn't just miss how the meat was done, it said the meat was cooked when it was visibly still raw. The thermometer was inserted correctly per the instructions, but this particular cut appears to have just been too thin in certain areas to work.Post cooking clean-up is a breeze; remove the grill deck and drip tray and clean them, and the rest of the machine just needs a wipe down (unless you're making something really messy). I would say that cleaning this is as easy if not easier than cleaning up my gas grill after use.Overall, I recommend it, but I would caution that new cuts should be approached carefully since the machine doesn't always seem to be as adaptable as it claims.
