Review on πŸ’Ό Compact Business Card Scanner: WorldCard Office Mini by Michael Reynolds

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Scan is disappointingly inaccurate

I bought this item because I am an administrative assistant for a very busy man and he gets stacks of business cards all over the place that he wants to add to his contacts. As you can imagine, he gets them in all shapes, colors and patterns and this poor reader had a hard time deciphering most of them. I spent over an hour scanning about 45 cards and had to rescan about 50% of them because they either didn't go straight through the scanner so the program didn't recognize them, or the data wasn't read correctly. I ended up having to edit most of them as well, as neither the person's name nor the company's name were found in the scan. I was hoping this would save time but it was a waste of time as I would have to go back and add these contacts manually anyway. That doesn't even include the time I might have to spend exporting them from the provided software and then importing them into Lotus Notes. (Our company's IT department doesn't support these devices, so I was told I was alone.) I didn't want to risk messing things up. If you want to load multiple cards and don't mind editing them, then this is the device for you. It just didn't meet my needs at all.

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
