Review on ๐Ÿ  Roof Solar Panel Mounting Bracket System Kit for 1-4 Solar Panels by ECO-Worthy by Nick Granner

Poor quality kit that barely works and leaves something to be desired

I have proceeded with the installation of this kit but have had to change many things. The reason I spent the extra money on this kit rather than making it myself was to save time, but you get what you pay for. I had a few issues with this product, some of these kits are heavy duty and others are pretty flimsy material. The tolerances are really bad, so the vertical legs rattle in the legs and corner brackets even when assembled. I've tried pulling thick and thin wall braces together to reduce these bumps, but the thinner parts just flex and the overall structure never compresses like I'd expect from a well-designed kit. Time will tell if this knot will rustle in the wind where it is unacceptable. I have standard 100w HQST panels, but the mounting brackets that come with this kit are not designed for my 1.4" thick panels. The brackets at the ends of the channels (to only secure 1 edge of the board) seem to be better suited for 1.75+ thick boards. I had to cut off parts of these brackets so they don't cut into the delicate parts when tightened Part of the polyester of the panel, and do not block the edge of the panel frame as intended (photos attached) - 3 of the 4 mounting feet were fine, 1 was welded upside down. This caused the holes in the vertical channel leg to not line up I had to drill holes in the uprights re-drilling to make this improperly welded leg work. Although 4 panels will fit in this kit, unless your panels are approximately 2" thick at the frame, they cannot be mounted symmetrically on rails with the hardware provided. forced to cut 2 of the screws as my panels were only 1.4" thick. I was able to set them off about 6 inches off center, but I wanted my panels to be centered on the guides (call me crazy). see photo All in all I got the kit working but it took a few more hours to get it working when I really just wanted something to work. Poor craftsmanship, I would just build my own kit from Home Depot parts if I did it again.
