Review on Steelex D2610 4 Inch 275 Pound Polyurethane by Noah Trigg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly good

I read all the reviews on these picks before ordering four of them a few weeks ago. Earlier this week they replaced some smaller ones with a storage cabinet that also doubles as a stand for some tabletop equipment in a cramped and cluttered store. This is because casters are used on a platform that can be moderately heavy and often moves when maneuvering is difficult. The old roles required me to "manage" the closet by hand, but now it rolls and changes direction. very easy. The "on" and "off" positions of the levers that actuate the brakes are defined and easily adjusted with the toe of my foot, at least in my fairly large "boots" for a woman. With the mounting plates installed approximately 3/8" behind the front edge of the cabinet's front frame, the front roller arms will simply protrude from the door, mounted to a 1/2" thick surface. The braking end of the lever is quite snug against them, but so far they've snapped off with no problem. Braking just two of the four casters optionally eliminates rolling. These reels are so good - I think they really deserve the five stars I gave them - that I have to wonder if the build quality varies and the minority of reviewers who were unhappy with them some of the bad received batch. However, I will be ordering four more for another cabinet that is much more difficult to move. I'll be sure to update this post if any of the new casters don't live up to my now higher expectations, so after a week or so, no news is good news!
