The concept is amazing but our dog seems particularly sensitive to this device. When it's turned on and "triggered" by barking (or other noise), our dog (Pembroke Welsh Corgi) will run to the far corner of the room and then try to dig in the ground. It totally scares him. Yes, that means he won't bark when he's scared, but that's definitely not the result we want. I can't take to see my dog so scared and until her barking becomes a bigger concern we will refrain. It's worth pointing out that we haven't removed the egg from view just yet, and while it's on the counter the dog seems to be barking a lot less than before. Maybe his presence is enough and he knows that if he barks, the monster egg on the counter will get him. There are different egg settings for the distance at which it should "bark" and activate. The egg appears to be set to activate at the frames specified for these settings. Another point people might want to know is that the egg "fires" from my husband's voice and laughter. It has a green light that lights up when the egg beeps to the dog. Keep an eye on this so that voices or other everyday noises do not trigger the device and thus "punish" your dog when he is not barking.
