Ideal for espresso, weighing the grounds in the portafilter and also weighing the brewed output in a cup. Excellent for improving the proportions of espresso resulting in better espresso quality. It fits perfectly under my espresso machine in sideways and long ways. Very responsive product, works great. The timer is also great for timing your espresso. I checked the weight readings with currency (nickels should be 5 grams, pennies should be 2.5 grams) and with a ml of water from a measuring cup and it was very accurate. For 0-30 grams it was right up, maybe a value of 0.1 grams, which is nothing, and for 40-60 grams (or ml) it was about 1% lower, which is less than a gram, which is very little is . exactly for the price of this scale. I was very pleased.
