I've been using a DVI cable for various monitors for about 10 years and the pins inside have finally failed. It's time to replace the cable. My new 144Hz monitor and 1070 GTX card were both DisplayPort compatible. I no longer have to deal with the hassle of aligning the pins and screwing things in afterwards. 144hz immediately in my Nvida control panel. Of course I had already installed the drivers for my monitor but that gave me the 144 option which HDMI didn't have. I can say for sure. I look forward to this cable lasting a few years. Because I occasionally use the same monitor for work, it's quick and easy to detach and move to my office environment.
