I had to back off the adjustment screw a bit before it stripped a lot of wire, but I managed where the 24AWG wire could be stripped fairly safely. Then, without changing the settings, I took a weird wire from an old refrigerator compressor, it looked like 14 gauge wire with very thick insulation, and it worked just as well. I'm really impressed with how well this tool works. It does not make an all-round clean, straight cut like classic one-handed strippers, but it is more versatile. It cuts the insulation on both sides with a flat blade and rips off the rest - so voltage adjustment is required. It may not work with some types of insulation that don't break easily enough and tend to snap small wires, but it's still an impressive and simple little tool. The scissors work great too. This is another tool that might not be ideal in some situations, but is likely to work in almost any situation. Great for an electrical repair kit that you don't know what you're getting yourself into! The price is good (cheaper than the small strippers I've used!) and seems solid enough for the money. Definitely worth checking out!
