Great kit for a beginner or veteran

A phone mount stuffed (who has a stationary one?) and I have no experience with drywall. I was looking at these tricky deals on chicken wire, duct tape, etc, and then I found this and decided to give it a try. It worked great! First, the kit says that the surface must be clean and free of dust. I did everything I could but with all the insulation etc it wasn't perfect there. I used a razor to trim the torn edges. The back of the 3M still held up very lightly. You can break off pieces to adjust the size which is nice as one side of my hole was against the stud so I wanted to make that side shorter. Then I filled it with the fountain pen that came with it. This stuff is amazing! I used regular putty before, it's much easier to work with, and I just filled the whole hole. The last pass with a wet spatula also helped a lot. It took less than a minute to fill and align the hole. I also only used about half of the container and still have enough left over to fill other small holes/dents around the house. It dried very quickly and was easy to sand and smooth the next day. It's worth noting that mine comes with an apron so I didn't care about the texture, but you'll need to get a separate texture pack if you want it to match the textured wall. It will be smooth. Overall it's foolproof, didn't take long, made me a fan of 3M refills for a long time and I will definitely be buying it again. It had everything you needed: a backboard, putty, spatula, and sandpaper.
