Review on Thermaltake Motherboard Addressable Hydraulic CL F115 PL12SW B by Paul Newton

I bought these to replace the standard fan for the built in all in one in my NZXT H1 case. I understand the reason for swapping cables to go from the controller to the direct connection to the motherboard, but I found it a little tedious. I also understand why the cables are so long when used as a case fan and not a heatsink fan, but if you need to plug the connected RGB cable into a second cable for either the controller or the ARGB connector, I figured that they could be made the connected RGB cables slightly shorter and add that length to the extra cable going to the controller or motherboard. Minor imperfections aside, this fan worked well as a replacement for the stock heatsink fan in the NZXT H1. The cables were a bit unwieldy, but I added just enough length to tuck the excess into the extra SSD slots behind the power supply and it still looks clean as far as cable routing goes. At first I wasn't even sure if the fan was working at all as the noise level is much lower than the standard fan installed on the H1 heatsink. I booted into the BIOS and used the built in setting to increase the fan speed and I could eventually hear it at around 70% but even then the noise was negligible. I'm using Linux, so it's not clear yet if OpenRGB will drive this hubless fan. I'll have to do a little work with the i2c detection and see if it updates and adds a fan to OpenRGB. The cooling was actually slightly better than the stock H1 radiator fan, which led me to believe the TT probably has better static pressure and pushes more air through the heatsink than the stock NZXT fan. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. When I can't sync the RGB to the LEDs on the motherboard, it's still a lot quieter than the fan that came with the H1 AIO and adds more sparkle to the initially dark chassis. Better cooling, quieter operation, and nice lighting make this an easy and welcome addition to my H1 build.
