Review on Enhanced Resolution Preamplifier - Micca OriGen G2 by Anna Lang

I bought a pair of DT770s to replace a 15 year old Bose TriPort at work. The DT770s are great, but I've started noticing some noise on my workstation. . It turned out that the built-in sound card is not the best. Now it's up to you to find a desktop DAC/amplifier. Oh God. There are so many options and so many opinions. And I wanted to keep my budget at around $100. I checked out Fulla 2 but people have strong opinions on both sides of the barricades. I looked at various FiiO products. They seem good, but nothing was perfect. I looked at SMSL. Again great products but nothing perfect for $100. I came across 3 reviews on Zreviews (youtube) for OriGen. Original OriGen, OriGen+ and OriGen2. In each review, he raved about the existing features and talked about what was missing. Each iteration was an improvement. OriGen+ has received a lot of noise due to driver issues for Windows 10. I will officially say that OriGen2 has absolutely no drivers, no problems at all with Windows 10. When I connected the USB, the device was immediately recognized on the laptop and started working. But what I really like is that my laptop knows when it's off but is still connected to the network. So if I set the volume to 100% on my PC (recommended for use with a DAC/amp) I can adjust the volume with OriGen2. If I turn off the OriGen2, the laptop will turn the volume back down to the default level before the device was plugged in! It's awesome! Without it, the volume would get stuck at 100%, which would be BAD. The device is so well thought out. Smooth potentiometer. Easy connection. Numerous inputs/outputs. High/low gain. TWO headphone inputs (It is recommended not to use both at the same time. But it works, and I'm glad it works. My wife and I can listen to the same song together, but we want to keep the room quiet [sleeping baby, puppy, etc. ]). Can't say enough about this DAC/Amp. Exactly what I was looking for. Fulla 2 can be just as good or even better. But I don't feel like finding out. OriGen2 is perfect.
