The program is very easy to use and fulfills its functions. The lid closes tightly and there is no leakage around the cork or out of the lid. We drank old red wine with a lot of sediment mostly caught on the strainer inside the spout. The green stopper is for wines with screw caps, which may have a larger neck than the corked bottle. They aren't pretty, so I didn't appreciate them as a gift. If you're looking to buy something to give away, I'd recommend the OXO sampler. The top of the device is metal and opens and closes with a slight lever. It has NO sediment strainers and is designed for non-screw cap bottles.
