Review on πŸ”₯ Stainless Steel Salton THP-528 Electric Double-Coil Cooking Range by Wayne Goff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very similar to a regular electric range

We bought this appliance because we had a kitchen renovation for 11 weeks. We used to have electricity in the kitchen so it's not too different even if you have limited (2) burners. One burner is larger than the other, allowing you to use a larger pot. Since we're doubled in sockets until our reno is ready, I've limited the time to use both coils, but you can easily use both if needed. There are many security features that I like. I only plug it in when I'm using it to prevent accidentally turning it on. The device is equipped with a RED indicator, which shows that the device is switched on. There are two separate GREEN lights, one for each burner, which let you know when the burner is on. The dial for each burner is well designed. It only works one way, so if you can rotate it, turn it on. There is a stop in the off state, so you can't go from off to the maximum temperature setting. If you turn the knob, you need to turn about 1/4 of the knob before you get to the first setting #1. The hottest setting is #5. I usually cook on #3. I don't like burning pans because the heat is too high. Someone complained that they heat up for a long time. I do not agree. Heats up pretty quickly. Now if you filled a giant 8 liter pot with water I would expect it to take a while to heat up. But my skillet heats up quickly to easily cook eggs to perfection. The surface is fairly easy to keep clean, apart from a small gap in the middle under the coils. As this is a portable device, the coils are permanently attached to the base. You'll have to try and clean a little between turns in the middle, but the rest is easy to clean. I recommend.
