I used this product to unclog a very slow drain that had become clogged with use. I later discovered that it was partially clogged with drain debris and a bit of hair. I used a thin water hose to push it down the drain until I hit an obstruction, then turned on the water (hot) to cut through the blockage. I've found that the plastic material (not surprisingly) softens when hot water is passed through it. However, he ran into a problem area and opened the drain wide enough to follow it with a steel-belted snake. This opened the drain. The slim profile helped it get in the right spot. A jet of water helped cut through the sediment. The only downside was that the plastic lost its rigidity when heated. I ended up running some cold water through it to set it in place (to hold it in place) and then switched to hot water. It opened things up enough to sniff out.
