Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Musou Digital Optical Converter Adapter by Patrick Matin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Every new UHD TV has nuances - there are so many technical considerations!

I used to watch TV with headphones on the treadmill early in the morning until I bought a new LG 43 inch UHD TV without a headphone jack. was so excited about this converter! Well, he arrived today. I plugged it in and it immediately made that annoying helicopter noise (as some of the reviewers have described). I don't like the dish HDMI input! So, when I unplugged HDMI and watched over-the-air, my Bose external computer speakers worked fine - yeah ha - no nasty noises! But they didn't respond when the TV was removed (couldn't mute, volume up or down) - no matter what TV settings I used. I have read many Revain reviews of this product and disabled Dolby which should fix any issues. It didn't help. There are so many crazy technical details involved in our beautiful digital revolution. like my Skull Candy headphones with an "old" 3.5mm analog jack. I'm a techie, but this kicked my ass. ::::: Revised review :::::::: Now a day later. Today I tried again to connect the D/A converter to the TV and it worked. Now I can use my Bose speakers - and plug my headphones into them (which disables all other speakers) and the headphones actually work. However, I still can't control the volume and mute button with the TV remote when using this "TOSlink Digital to Analog 3.5mm Audio Conversion" no matter what I do. As long as it has to be done. The Musou converter works, but it's not a perfect solution to my problem.
