Beautiful Metal Sleeve - Sleeve Sets

This is a fairly good quality all metal bushing. The brush is fine, but it doesn't have much room for wires. But it can be easily removed. Regarding hole saw and fitment comments, the hub body is just under 2-5/16 and the ribs closer to 2-3/8. The 60mm hole saw is right in the middle, but the hole saw is difficult to hold in place and tends to make a sloppy hole if you can't get a table or table in the drill. I used a 2-5/16 5/4 White Oak Forstner bit with the bit guide (clamped) and the socket went in well up to the ribs. The stiffeners at this point, especially in oak, do take some sanding with a spindle sander and it works very well. If you want to flush mount a bushing, put a 2-3/4" Forstner nozzle about 1/8" deep in front of the smaller nozzle and it will be nice and flush. Of course, not everyone has the right bits, guides, tools and so on. However, the sleeve itself is made almost exactly to the dimensions given. The trick is to make a reasonably accurate hole, especially if you plan to install flush, as you then need concentric, fairly accurate holes. The material you install also matters. Something soft like MDF is much easier to install (use a block of wood and a hammer to hammer it in and the bushing will fit snugly in the 2-5/16 hole). Hardwood or something covered in high pressure laminate will require a bit more work. TL; DR is a setup that's really just a matter of how picky you have to be, your situation, and the tools available.

Pros
  • 2-PIECE CONSTRUCTION - Hides the raw edge of your table. The top half "snaps" into the bottom half with a slight clockwise twist. - 1 bushing
Cons
  • Big and bulky
