Smells like a barn

I've been using the same Redecker brush for years and it works fantastic. They eventually wear out in about 8 months to a year. It's okay, buy a new one. This is probably my 6th repurchase of this item and I've never had a problem with it. But that, oh my god, SMELL! As soon as I wet it to wash the first load of dishes, it was a harsh and pungent barn smell. No washing of the brush with detergents or vinegar could dull the stench. I had to put it in the garage to dry because the whole house stank. I have many other Redecker brush products (vegetable brush, pan scraper, broom, table brush, etc.) and I've never had one smell so bad. I've come across cheap fakes from Asia that actually have an odor problem. This brush had no label identifying it as a genuine Redecker Germany brush. I can only conclude that Redeker has quality control issues or that this brush is a cheap fake and not the original. Return and buy from an authorized Redecker dealer.
