I purchased this unit in December 2018 to replace an 8810 that I have happily owned and worked with for years. A few days after installation, the machine began spattering ink onto the sides and inside of the drum. Several calls to Brother led to the decision to send me a new toner cartridge. I tried to convince them that the photoconductor was dirty and that a new toner cartridge would not solve the occasional ink and print smudge problem. They refused, I put in a new cartridge and as expected the pages still came out with smudges and smudges due to the ink in the drum. A few more calls to Brother resulted in them sending me a new machine with no cartridge or drum. They will not replace her for reasons that escape me. Two months after installing a new cartridge and drum unit at my expense, the pages are smeared and smeared again. Another call to brother. Terrible car and terrible customer service. So bad that I'm seriously considering lowering the cost and starting over with another manufacturer.
