I've been using these filters for a year now and testing them with an electronic pH meter which assures me the water is alkaline. Depending on how much water you run through, they can last quite a while. I change every 3-4 months. It turns out to be a lot cheaper than buying 5 gallon jugs at $15 each. Customer service is great too, they replaced my broken one with no problem :)
