While positive reinforcement is the preferred method of training, there are times when an alternative is needed. The collar's tap/vibrate function is excellent. I rarely have to use the electric function as the vibration is overwhelming enough to convince my dog. It is used every day and we receive many compliments on how well my dog listens/replies. The collar controls the strength of the electric current with a dial that I tested on the palm of my hand and found to be very accurate. We have many dogs at the park who are frustrated with smaller collars that offer less precise control. He knows exactly when to be most mischievous when not wearing the Mini-Educator.
