I have used similar products - POR-15, KBS etc. All required a metal cleaner and then a separate rust converter. , spray with water and then coat for best results. In fact, it was a multi-step process. It was fairly easy to use, so far I've used it to cover the interior metal floor of my classic car. There were a few rust spots (minor) on the bottom so I wanted to use it to stop current rust and for future protection. Everything ran smoothly and looks great, and most importantly, I didn't have to spray the interior with a multi-step acid conversion process that would collect water in my floor pans. Whilst I have no complaints I can't yet comment on the durability of this product's protection - I'm not sure how well it will protect against rust in the future but time will tell. - Quantity for the price, unbeatable. - The car well covered - a lot left for other parts of the car.
