I fabricated the PCB and screwed the solder mask into one of the slots and had to remove it manually. The key is to make it aggressive enough that it removes the solder mask, but not sharp enough to damage the underlying copper trace. This brush worked great with a few caveats: 1) At 1/16" it's still quite large. Something 1/32 would be more appropriate for the size I was working on, although I think this product is about is as small as they make it. I ended up removing the soldermask from a larger area than was strictly necessary. 2) It tends to release dust and splinters of fiberglass when you use it. This material is irritating to skin, eyes , lungs or whatever it comes into contact with. Make sure you use the appropriate protection and clean up immediately after use. I have used it on a very small area and am happy with the product.
