🧽 Efficient Fiberglass Scratch Brush: BRS-290.00 - Extra Thin & Highly Effective Review

I bought this brush thinking it would look like the fiberglass brush in duplicate color markers. No, that is not so. I've used the same DP fiberglass tip over ten times. That being said, I have to extend the pole every few minutes. It's quite soft in comparison and you'll use up the rod fairly quickly. Suitable for light cleaning only.

As the title suggests, this is a great little scraper brush for removing rust and dirt from metal surfaces while doing minimal damage to the metal itself. I had to remove rusty screws from an old telegraph key and it worked great. One thing if anyone ever tells you. combat gloves! Tiny slivers of fiberglass look like microscopic cactus needles. So wear thin rubber gloves when carrying this.

I've had good results with this for cleaning electrical contacts. From time to time, a timer, flashlight, or other battery-powered electronic device will not work properly even though the batteries are good. Wiping the battery contacts and posts with this brush for a few seconds will restore normal operation in most cases. This extra fine brush is good for getting into narrow or deep areas.

I fabricated the PCB and screwed the solder mask into one of the slots and had to remove it manually. The key is to make it aggressive enough that it removes the solder mask, but not sharp enough to damage the underlying copper trace. This brush worked great with a few caveats: 1) At 1/16" it's still quite large. I LOVE these scratchboard pens but am very disappointed with how long they last. I ordered 3 last month and they all broke. In the blue image, the holder below simply stopped gripping the fiberglass rod. It would just slide back in instead of any tension holding it out of the grip. Then I got two reds with a different kind of grip. One just broke and the button at the top doesn't work anymore. I hope to get a refund or new ones to replace those broken brushes. I purchased this item a few months ago to remove surface rust from a small chip on my car's paintwork. A pen with some elbow grease removed all the rust from the chipped area so I could paint over the area. Pros: Easy to use Works like a pen Easy control of the amount of fiberglass coming out of the pen Ideal for a range of stains, battery corrosion, rust, etc. Fine tip pen allows for very fine, intricate work. Purchase fillers when ordering.

Needed to detect rust on my truck before painting. It was a million times easier and better than using sandpaper. Removes rust much more effectively. Easier to blend color fringes around bare metal. Left the metal smoother than sanding with fine sandpaper. Was perfect for what I needed to do. At one point I thought it was just a small spot of rust, but the rust has spread under the paint.
