This cable works great with my Whistler radar and is much better than dirty cables. I can't even see this wire from the driver's seat. And when I take it to my other car, the plug is right where I need it. No more running cables and fighting sagging. Plugging into a switched power supply is a little trickier than plugging into your cigarette lighter, but it's worth it as you never have to turn it off and you never forget to turn it on. You must know what you are doing (or know someone who does) to connect it safely and securely, otherwise you should consult a professional. In my Maxima I connected the sunroof because it is turned on by the key. In my MX-5 Miata I had to run it up the A-pillar to the fuse box. Either way, it's worth it. Hardwiring your radar detector will make you love your radar detector more than you already do.
