Can't comment on durability as we just got them. I bought my son a pair of navy blue convertible pants as an alternative to the official Scout pants. The material is much thinner than scout pants, but looks good with the uniform and is similar in color to the shirt. The zipper legs are ok. But the back pockets are completely fake, which looks silly on hiking pants. All in all, I'm not sure if they're worth the price. I will save as our scout shop is far away and they charge a lot for shipping. But I would buy again and again, especially for leisure trousers. (Size 6-7 seems to fit, but maybe a little longer. They're probably best for tall, slim kids.) Update: After wearing 12 times and hiking 3-4 times, my son fell and hit his knee a stone. There is now a 2 inch tear at the knee of the pants. They are lightweight and dry quickly, but are not durable. I don't think his other pants would have ripped in that situation.
