Great support!: Lumbar supports

An email asking for a review popped up just as I sat down at the computer after running and wearing this brace. Kismet! The rail itself is very well designed. You can easily wear it over or under your clothes. Velcro is very sticky - it's great. The straps can really be tightened if you need extra support. If you have a big belly, you won't look like the guy in the picture. If you look like the guy in the picture, you probably don't need these braces. I bought this brace for walking (also treadmill and bike at the gym) and working in the yard or garage - especially the slopes. As for me, I would tend to use this 1) when I'm experiencing back spasms or pain (nerve/sciatica) before a workout, or 2) for longer periods of exercise/exercise. It can also be useful if you sit at the computer for a long time. After a month I can say that it works very well and has great support. I am happy. Why should you care what I have to say? I have had 4 neck/lower back surgeries due to congenital spinal issues. I've been through more braces and appliances before and after surgery than most people. I have a wonderful (and obscenely expensive) post-op back brace that's bigger than a WWE championship belt. I needed similar support without bulk. That little bracket still helps. Two quick notes. 1) Measure your stomach, not your waist, to determine the size, otherwise you will be disappointed and need to order the next size up. 2) Wearing a back brace is not a cure or panacea for back problems. When I say long periods (above) I mean 30-45 minutes maximum wear time. Most doctors and therapists will tell you not to wear these braces all the time/all day unless they tell you to. I wear them for support and to train my muscles and body so I need less or no brace. The goal is independence from the association. I hope this article works for you too.
