Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Honeywell 5-2 Day Programmable Thermostat for Home by Chris Russell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just bought my second one and will buy again if needed! With a discount, they cost me nothing!

I just bought a second one to replace some Honeywell "professional" thermostats I installed seven years ago. In comparison, they are very easy to install and set up. Installation took less than 5 minutes and wiring the jumper blocks was possibly the hardest part. Definitely recommend a small jeweler's flathead screwdriver. As others have noted, holding down the thermostat during installation increases the temperature of the display as your hand heats up the thermostat. It took about 5-10 minutes for the temperature to adjust to the ambient temperature after installation. One reviewer recommended opening the thermostat from each corner to insert the batteries, which is good advice. The lid is very tight when you try to open it with your finger from the center, but opening the corners works great. Programming was incredibly easy - set wake, exit, return and sleep times/times for weekdays and weekends. and for heating and cooling. The Hold and Run buttons speak for themselves. The only odd thing that all the other reviewers noticed is a smudge in the bottom right corner of the display. However, this is a thermostat, not a work of art. I can live with it. Will update if problems arise, but they are already better than the "professional" models I bought first. Finally, my state has an energy rebate program and 5-2 programmable thermostats get rebates of up to $25/piece. So far they haven't cost me anything!
