What can I say. Finally there is a DSLR that will feel "familiar" to the old hands who have had their hands on the Nikkormat and Nikon F, FE and F2 since the early 70's. My wife and I are avid Nikon fans and have amassed a "collection" of Nikon bodies and Nikkor lenses over the years. This camera has so many features that I love, but the most important thing is that it works with all of the F-mount Nikkor lenses we have, including some from the late 60's. As soon as I started reading about it, I pre-ordered it ahead of release and have been waiting and using it since December 2013. It makes so much sense and goodness in a very personal, familiar way that a few months later I put a second Df blackbody in took the hand. No regret. Its low light performance is beyond anything I could ever dream of. My old wired and smooth triggers fit the threaded trigger. It is light and compact compared to many other modern digital SLR cameras. It has an excellent ISO range and is easily adjustable on the fly (after learning all the settings available using the external knobs and dials). It is extremely customizable with many menu options. The battery life is excellent. It feels "tough" or durable. She hasn't let me down after ten thousand shots or so. I could go on forever but the truth is I'm still learning how to get the most out of this camera. You don't want to get involved that much? Set the program to "P", set the ISO to "Auto" in the menu and start creating great photos immediately. I admit that I have an "emotional bond" with this camera. The ability to use it as a tool or "instrument of art" is indescribable - it comes closest to "feeling" or "expressing emotion" - and so it's hard to put it all into words . .My advice: try it if you can before you buy it. It might not be for everyone, but it seems "right" to me. Five stars!
