Review on General Tools 861 Woodworking Furniture by Cody Bowie

This was my attempt at carpentry and it failed on this gear. I played with this thing for several hours, and no matter how closely I followed the directions, there was always a gap at the end of the tails. I was finally able to grasp what was going on and realized that the problem wasn't with me, it was with the jig. The guides you align the end of the board to aren't flush with the top of the jig your router sits on (see pictures), so your tails will always be too short. I don't know if this is just a bug on my part or if it's a problem for everyone, but maybe it's better to save a little more money and buy something more reliable so you don't end up with a $50 paperweight. like me.
