Focus 2010 K&N Intake

I have used K&N products before and some aspects of this intake system meet my expectations. Installation took about an hour and did exactly what was advertised - a slight improvement in mileage. I was surprised that K&N mislisted some of the items included in the package. While not critical, it was odd that one hose was no longer on one end than the other. There's a hose that's pushed against a port - and it's stuck - and then it has to be pushed against another port that's probably 1/4 inch larger in diameter. It fits and works, but it's odd that a good company like K&N wouldn't supply a hose with a larger diameter on one end. Also, I had to buy my own clamps for the other hose because the two clamps in the kit seemed too small. I'm sure they would work. But I didn't want to waste time attaching them, so I used two large clamps I had in the garage. t increased by 10mpg, but there was a 1-2mpg increase. It's louder than the stock intake (obviously), but it doesn't make any noise at freeway-junction speeds. Plus, the noise it makes isn't objectionable. Intake causes stumbling at very low rpm. xt stutter. People with automatic transmissions will never experience this. Basically, it's worth the money. Spent $100 less than my local Advance Auto parts wanted. There are no defects in this kit, just a few points that caused a surprise during installation. I would still only give it a five out of five.
