Make sure the motherboard slot supports this M.2 card. I have three computers and each has different support - one of the two sockets only supports this card with an M key (on the end of the socket the key is on the right); another card with key B; Another single-port computer supports both - all three motherboards from the same brand. I connected it to an external M.2 USB enclosure to view the drive in the computer. When I moved from a smaller drive to a larger one, I used a program to merge the remaining space. Plugged into the motherboard, removed the original SSD and everything worked. I've used a few other brands of M.2 and they've also worked well, maybe a bit slower, but I don't really know what to say or what I'm particularly interested in. on desktop applications, but I think they're all faster than the SSDs I bought a few years ago. I used Samsung 970 EVO on another computer and ADATA (m.2 SSD) on another. I chose this Samsung 970 PRO for my last build because the price difference wasn't significant to me and I didn't want to regret anything.
