May do for a small scratch

Sandpaper can be used to initially remove most scratches. You can even use sandpaper to smooth out a large area (3 inches wide and 6 inches long) where scratches might be present. However, you will never be able to polish a large area with the drill bit and polishing pad included in the kit. The only way to polish an area like this was to buy a 7 inch variable speed polisher and buffing wheel. Even then, it took me several hours to polish that area clean.
