I use this adapter to record from my computer on to VHS tapes. It works like a charm. The picture is sharp and noise free. It is also capable of outputting 4:3 or 16:9 video (no letter-boxing). Although this shouldn't affect most applications, the image is slightly under-scanned, meaning that the video output is slightly smaller than the nominal frame size (approximately 480 scanlines). This done, presumably, to compensate for the over-scan (essentially cropping the edges of the video) that most analog display have. The attached imaged is the output from an LG OLED demo video recorded to a VCR using this digital-to-analog adapter. A dark edge surrounding the image can be observed. The picture is not an accurate represent of the original adapter output, as this is the video capture from a faulty VHS VCR (which makes the picture fuzzier and noisier than the original picture).
