Poor selection of household items

I don't often write bad reviews, especially on cheap items, but I think people should be careful with this product. Not only does it not work, it can also damage your toilet. I have very hard water and no matter how often and how thoroughly I clean the toilet, hard water stains still remain on the toilet floor. I had read that this product would make cleaning hard water a lot easier, so I gave it a try the day before Thanksgiving dinner. It was a bad decision. I was surprised that the stone is not hard at all. It was crumbly right out of the box with little to no pressure on it. I followed the instructions but it took me a lot of effort to make progress. The stone continued to decompose in the water, but the instructions said it was a normal part of the cleaning process. While I was washing the floor of the toilet, the wand completely broke in half. Remember that the pumice is FLOATING and the large chunk of pumice floated into the toilet bowl well out of reach. That left me with two bad options: I could roll the dice and try to flush the toilet, hoping that piece of pumice would somehow get through. without having to settle anywhere or call a plumber to figure out how to fish this thing out. Because flushing rocks down the toilet is always a bad idea, and it was a holiday weekend, my bathroom was closed for Thanksgiving dinner. Fun! BONUS TREAT: I then had to pay someone to pull the toilet all the way out to fish the broken piece of pumice out of the hatch. Cleaning up this huge mess and getting the sewage smell out of the bathroom was really the icing on the cake. Meanwhile I still have lime stains in my toilet. Somehow this product isn't strong enough to do what it's designed to do, but still strong enough to put my toilet out of order. Next Thanksgiving I'll just buy a bottle of CLR.
