Review on Durable Dee Zee DZ86700 Heavyweight Tailgate Mat in Grey/Black - Expert Quality! by Corey Krull

I have previously purchased a DeeZee Heavyweight Bed Mat for a 5.5ft truck bed (Dee Zee DZ87005 Heavyweight Bed Mat). While not an exact fit, this tailgate mat is made of a rubber material similar enough to be considered suitable. My only issue was that the box with that backdoor mat was a bit open (both the Revain box and the product box). So it's no surprise that when you opened and unfolded the tailgate mat, there was no bag of hardware (26 screws needed to attach the mat to the tailgate, according to the manual). I decided to go in a different direction as I didn't really like the idea of screwing in the back door of my truck. As some other reviewers have mentioned on the DeeZee website, 3M Marine Grade Hook & Loop Tape (2 of 3M Fastener TB3571/TB3572 Hook/Loop Black, 1" (25.4mm) x 10' (3.05m) (1 matching tape/bag ) can be used to attach the mat to the tailgate I used two packs of 2 long strips across the tailgate and small strips between the 2 strips and under the 2nd strip to the underside of the tailgate. The tape securely attached the mat to the tailgate.Note that for the 2018 Ford F-150 you may need to trim the mat a bit - I had to trim about an inch to fit with heavy duty cutters.
